Benard Tomic was once considered the next superstar in Australian tennis, however, that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon.
Early on Tomic shot up in popularity, winning games, climbing the ranks and representing Australia in the 2012 Olympic games.
Although everything has spiraled downwards since then, with Tomic constantly being in the news for countless arrogant claims, controversial actions, being dropped from the Australian team, missing the 2016 Olympic games and poor form for the past two years.
With claims that he has only made a 50% effort throughout his career being one of his most recent controversial actions.
At one point this man was number 17 in the world, however now, Tomic has fallen to number 141 and wasn’t even able to push past the qualifying rounds of the 2018 Australian Open.
Such a huge fall for someone who is only 25 years of age and should be at the peak of his powers.
However, it now seems as if Tomic has been forgotten and is now well behind the real “next big thing in Australian tennis” on Nick Kyrious.
Luckily for Tomic, he still has time on his hands but if he doesn’t change his attitude and give more than just a 50% effort than he will be forgotten or worse, remembered as a freak talent that never delivered.
