Melbourne United has had an incredible 2017/2018 NBL season so far and is currently sitting firmly in first place on the ladder.
The star outfit has won 18 games this season and is looking dangerously likely to win the championship this year.
With an enormous amount of superstars in Chris Goulding, Casper Ware, Tai Wesley, and Josh Boone, it makes them a quality outfit that many struggles to contest against.
However, the New Zeeland Breakers did come close to toppling Melbourne at Hisense Arena this weekend.
But with an impressive 26 points and 5 assists from Ware on Friday Night, it was almost impossible for the Breakers to seal the deal.
Leading up to the game, the Breakers had been second on the ladder and in a good position to win the game, as well as make themselves the favourite for the championship.
This was largely due to Melbourne being said to have some hoodoo against New Zeeland, however; it seems that curse has been lifted.

Melbourne had an incredible match and managed to win the contest 89-84. This should easily make Melbourne the favourite to win this year’s championship, although, New Zeeland also showed us that they won’t be an easy beat come finals.
